Today we are walking into the Dorsett Brand : Dorsett features contemporary midscale hotels in carefully chosen urban locations, providing business and leisure travellers with easy access to downtown areas.                               and for the first time Singapore multi talented award winning Singer Song Writer /  Producer was invited to stay with DORSETT SINGAPORE...

Artistic, creativity and little details is what attracts me. Though there was a small hiccups only when i checked into the balcony room and found out there is actually no balcony room that leads to pool, which i was attracted by the picture when i did the booking. Fortunately my disappointment was soon taken care when the front desk offered to upgrade me to their Splash room with luxury bath tub space and see through glass panel separating bath room and bed room. For some one that needs space, the Splash room was seems a good choice. 

After the 1st night i decided to extend my stay with Dorsett to try other room types and to my surprised i was being upgraded again, this round the loft room which provides a mezzanine level that separate work and rest area with a King Size Bed, with the celling length glass window provides a modern ambiance.

The Assistant Guest Service Manager, Ms Jean's calm and friendly gestures offering to show me to the lift after my reregistration for my extension, And to my my surprised i was being offered free breakfast for 2 for the next morning and and extended check out time to 3pm and i settled in the new room. Than i suddenly remembered on the short walk to the lift i asked Ms Jean if breakfast was provided, i didn't push for it after knowing it wasn't included. Again that shows Dorsett team "listened" to their guests and put in efforts to create a more than pleasant stay for their guests. 

Singapore multi talented award winning Singer Song Writer/ Producer Mr Jiu Jian personally met up with Mr Wong and Ms Lindy from Marcom to share more about his staycation experiences and future  collaboration possibilities. ( picture take at the cafe infront of tastefully chosen art piece ) 

Though Dorsett might seems an average size hotel from outlook but its the interior design makes it unique among the crop. Not to mention Landscape roof garden that offers a quick respite anytime of the day, a 30-meter outdoor swimming pool and outdoor Jacuzzi offer the perfect avenue to refresh and recharge , fully equipped gym and tastefully decorated cafe cum bar have all elevated the overall staying experience.

For travellers that seeks a mixture of personal , intimate, simple luxury with taste and modern lifestyle , Oriental Residence would definitely be the choice.

once you walked in the ceiling high residence entrance , a sense of tranquility sets in, the embience of the lobby and checked in front dest was near romantic with picture frames of different shades and floral arrangements welcomes you to a dreamy almost fairy tale like setting that calms ones mind even i was stucked in the traffic before reaching the location during the evening peak hour.

Elegance is another word to describe the environment , a home away from home that most travellers would possibly dreamt for.  My 45 square metres Grand Deluxe room comes with my favourite white and pastel blue and gray tones with a good mix of urban and traditional style and decor.
Good quality bed and pillow choices is the most important things i look out for as well the good sound prove was all in Oriental Residence Bangkok .

Custom-designed furniture to recessed overhead lighting and dark hardwood floors contrasted by cream colour marble bath rooms was another plus point .  luxury build in wardrobe that seperates from the living room created an cozy living space during my 2 nights 3days stay cation in Bangkok.

 The new French-inspired Savelberg Thailand restaurant, chic Café Claire was another space that not only provides a unique dinning area , but also a place where you could relax or read if you decide not to compete with the heat of the sun.

Throughout my short stay , its not difficult to understand why Oriental Residence continues to gain rave feedbacks and was Top 25 Hotels in Asia: Readers' Choice Awards 2014 and chosen Travellers Choice 2015.  Even while waiting for my cab to arrive while fliping through the magazine on my checkout day afternoon was a classic experience that comes rare .

JIUJIAN1MOROUND GOES AMARI WATERGATE BANGKOK

     It was pretty cool to have the chance to be invited by Amari WaterGate Bangkok for a 2nights 3 days staycation back in April this summer.  After a few concerts 3 consecutive concerts from March - May . Finally i could find some good time to share my staycation experiences with Amari Watergate Bangkok.

While streaming through my self taken pictures and memories of the 2nights3days , i was amazed how the experiences  was still staying fresh in my mind i could  clearly remember , obvously ,  Amari Watergate Bangkok have left an impression, mostly on the good ones. And i guess it would be good to share some back ground and facts with my readers about the Amari Watergate Bangkok as well.

1st i was attracted with the stricking Orange icon of the hotel when i was browsing through the website , a routine for a traveller into special holidays or staycation locations . and later got to know that i am looking at one of the top hotel brand that have made themself a name in the pass decades of thailand hospitality industry. Backed by an international team of industry professionals is ONYX Hospitality Group. Having been in the industry for over 45 years, ONYX Hospitality Group is one of the Asia-Pacific’s leading hospitality management companies, with a portfolio that includes over 33 operational properties across Asia and more new properties rapidly being developed in the next few years.

Now coming back to Amari  Watergate Bangkok , with the much convenient location, Platinum a major shopping mall just across the street and BTS around.  I have decided to bring myself to this much acclaimed and popular hotel property this April. The very spacious hotel lobby speaks alot for Amari Watergate Bangkok .

Once you entered the more than celling high hotel entrance , the hotel lobby immediately sets you in a very holiday or stay cation mood with the high ceiling hall , busy traffic acroos the hall, just like one of those movie scene that the actor/actress catwalk in with friendly door men , big smile welcoming you , helping you with luggages and warm greetings, immediately you feels more than just a guests , you feels like some one important and having the whole well taking care of your needs duriing a holiday, you feels like a princ or princess , King and Queen :)

The checked in was smooth even during the busy hour of the day. I was located on the 26th floor which was told refurbished  in recent years. Spacious and a good view over looking the hussle and bussle of bangkok city .

Though i was a bit taken aback with the worn out of some fixtures in the room especially the table and mini bar areas outside the bath room. From the look of it , it doesn't looks like it has been newly fubished.  Could have been at least looks like the picture below

Which i could have better comment on the room , but couldn't . I hope infuture they would provide a better contition for media stay as that would affect the image of the hotels hospility and sincerity greatly.for a 5 Star hotel property. Therefor i can only compliment on other area aside from my room. but was glad to know from a friend that i have recommended to stay with the hotel was satisfied with their rooms being allocated.

Its only natural to expect minor hick ups  to make the the staycation complete. i will further compliments the strength of Amari Watergate Bangkok.  Besides the great location, good varieties of f&b outlets that served quality food was a plus point and makes it very convenient for food goers.
   

  I personally love the  cafe next to the lobby lounch. Try the drinks and pasta choices , and you will know what i meant. I personally recommended Penne with prawns in garlic herb sauce , to me a very safe and by far my favourite choice when ever i visit the cafe.

                                and tomato soup was one of my personal favourite too as a starter before the main

   After a day of long day of walking and shopping,  unwind with a cool glass of fruit juice or some quick bites.
                             

 The Promenade is the cafe and restaurant that provides a scrumptious varieties of breakfast , and you will notice from my taken pictures , the spread got me all excited even for a small eater most of the time, i go all the way and pampered myself before the start of the day, breakfast !

I recommended one of my publisher to stay with Amari watergate where they choose to stay at the executive level and received rave commends from friends family from comfortable stay till quality room services. And friends told me that they will revisit the hotel again this year end school vacation witht the kids.Well , i guess wiser thinks alike :)

All in all , there is quite a lot to offer for this executive hotel  "Certificate of Excellence 2015" in central Bangkok. From the hotel lift directory you could see what you have inhouse even without stepping out . From hotel’s various lifestyle outlets.  to the pampering touch of a Thai massage by trained therapists at the luxury Breeze Spa, or take in the Bangkok sunset at the outdoor garden terrace, housing a Jacuzzi pool and sundeck. Discover world cuisine at at excellent dining venues including authentic Middle Eastern cooking prepared by our award winning Master Chef Yasser Darwich. Finish off by lazing away to the sounds of Thai classical music in the lobby lounge.  It really keeps a lazy soul like me excited knowing handful of activities and spaces that i could help myself with during my staycation, not to mention all the surrounding attractions waiting for you in the heart of the vibrant Pratunam neighbourhood in downtown Petchburi, known for its bustling landscape of shopping bazaars and lifestyle malls. 

Its definately a "COOL" pick for any travellers that needs a good stay cation on their holiday calendar ! ( but you might want to have the front desk to show you your prefered room to check on the conditions to your satisfaction,  i am sure the front desk manager would be most happy to assist their guests )
